The Princeton Review recently ranked Michigan Tech University No. 32 for its “Top 50 Best Value Colleges” of public universities for 2022. The organization utilizes a Return-on-Investment (ROI) Rating system that collects data from the previous year along with alumni surveys as well as data collected about college costs, financial aid, academics, and strong career prospects for graduates.

This ranking isn’t the first time the university has received recognition for its dedication to not only the cost of college for its students but also the job outcome for its students upon graduation; Michigan Tech was named a “Top College For Your Money” by Forbes in 2021, 2nd in Michigan for value by Niche, 8th in Top Public Universities in the U.S. that Pay the Most by CNBC and 9th in the U.S. for highest paid statistics graduates by College Factual*.

In alignment with the Princeton Review ranking, MTU’s ROI webpage makes it clear that the university is just as invested in the outcome of the students as much as the students themselves. According to the page, Michigan Tech “students have an average five-year placement rate of 93% within six months of graduation (within their field of study) and are in the top 20 for highest early-career salaries in the nation at $71,100.”

The university not only shares the stats behind why and how they earn these recognitions but provides easily accessible resources for potential and current students including information on Career and ROI outcomes, Building Skills and Growing, to Standing Out as a student and in their future career.

Five-year placement rate of 93% within six months of graduation

Michigan Tech provides even more resources for students regarding tuition, fees, and scholarships, including resources for paying for college and even a net-price calculator to estimate merit-based scholarships and need-based financial aid for which you may qualify, based on if you’re a first-year or transfer student.

The university's Tuition and Financial Aid webpage also clearly breaks down expenses and examples of financial aid packages in easy-to-read visual formats. Several of the scholarships available to applicants are “automatic consideration,” meaning that applicants are considered for these awards automatically when they apply, whether they are in-state, out-of-state, or international students.

Michigan Technological University's Ongoing Value

Michigan Tech's longstanding rankings are a testament to the high quality of its programs and its recent investment in offering online degree programs allows for an even wider pool of students to take advantage. Expert faculty, combined with the convenience of online learning, provide students with an excellent option to gain an advanced, recognized degree. Michigan Tech is committed to creating online curricula that allow students to master the key principles of their field and respects that many graduate students are juggling the demands of their personal and professional lives. With the flexibility of online learning that still delivers an immersive learning experience, Michigan Tech is thrilled to be recognized among the Top 50 Best Value Colleges. Even more exhilarating is that this ranking suggests that Michigan Tech alumni are going on to do great things following graduation.
